The same team that put the hugely successful revue “Noches Tropicales” together last season, brings you a 1940s musical event with an authentic big band sound that includes top notch brass and rhythm sections supporting seductive vocals and scintillating dancers.
The show is headlined by Jon Thornton, a vocalist and trumpet virtuoso and Cesar Lozada, our sultry Venezuelan Dancer/Singer who will make you swoon, when he delivers Nat King Cole’s signature “Mona Lisa”.
The playlist clips through the big band cannon with many favorites from: “Jumpin’ at the Woodside” “Stompin at the Savoy” and “I Got it Bad” to brooding versions of “Do Nothing til You Hear From Me” and “Lush Life.” Just to make sure you get in some toe tapping of your own; we round out with numbers that will have you Lindy Hopping in the aisles.
Melody Chabala, Edward “Shi” Johnson, and Sarah Sharpe, all part of Elite Dance International’s stable of instructors and dancers hold the stage with their expertise, panache, and heat…..
The evening is arranged and musical directed by South of Broadway’s new Musical Director: Venezuelan composer and musician, Abdiel Iriarte. Whose talents have been recognized and applauded in our production of “The Nance” and “Noches Tropicales”.
Come with us and Misbehave in the glamorous and naughty 1940s!
