“This Place is Mine” (from Phantom of the Opera by Maury Yeston)  is easy to sing about, but make no mistake, running a theatre company with nine shows, three summer camps and a month in NYC at Juilliard is more than a full time job!!!  So, when it gets to be my turn to perform on my own stage, I make it as easy as I can….and that means collaborating with my long-term Musical Director, and very dear friend:  Bill Lewis.

This man walks with a halo above his head, and spreads love and laughter wherever he treads, so he’s super easy to be with.  He is also a monster pianist and coach with more repertoire and tricks up his sleeve than a magician.  And, we’ve worked together for so many years that we pretty much know what the other is going to say before its said.  That makes planning the program a breeze.  I went to NYC last June and spent two days with Bill going through music and sketching out and planning the program,  then I didn’t see him again until this past Monday (Jan. 6).  We spent two more days honing the play list and the chatter to go with it.

If the review from Carol Furtwangler can be believed the audience MAY have had as much fun as we did!  Can’t wait to do it again this coming weekend!
