SOBTC was selected as a recipient of The National Theatre Company Grant at the Tony Awards in 2016. "The National Theatre Company Grant is our annual investment in innovative theatre companies making local impact across the nation by connecting their community to excellence in the performing arts. We recognize the organizations developing outstanding new work, and fostering education and community engagement by vitalizing regional theatre."
